Blog 4
I just finished reading the book small steps during english class. It was a really good book. I enjoyed this book. This blog is supposed to be on symbolism. One symbol in the book could be the letter Kaira Deleon sent to Armit. It could represent her love for him and how she misses him. Even though the story doesn't mention much about the letter it still is an important step in Armpit's and Kaira's relationship. Another symbol in the story is the expensive sweatshirt Kaira bought for Armit. It represents that Kaira doesn't care about the cost as long as she likes something. It also shows that Kaira knows nothing about how to spend money. She just carges everything to the tour and doesn't know how it is spent. Symbols are very important in shaping a novel. They nake you think about what they represent. When I think of symbolism I think of the movie fom the book "Fiddler on the Roof". The title is also a symbol to the story.

Blog #3
I started a new book. It's not on the list but Ms. Faughey approved it. It is the continueation of "Holes" from another character's point of view. This story is about Armpit. Armpit was the kid who was overweight. He burned of all excess fat at camp Greenlake though. Now he has a job and a new personality. He is a hard worker and can control his temper. I am up to page 126. Armpit, now known as Theodore, met a famous singer because of a fake ticket at her concert. They became friends because the police tried arresting Armpit because he was black. The mayor saved him though. Kaira felt sorry for him and the little girl with cerebral parlsy who he was escorting and they all became friends.

Blog 2
I finished the book Flowers for Algernon. Once it started getting interesting I couldn't put it down. It was really sad when Charlie became mentally retarded at the end. In this book I like how Daniel Keyes mispelled words in Charlie's journal on purpose to show his low IQ. When Charlie became smart though he used words that I didn't even understand so I had to read with a dictionary.

Flowers for Algernoon Blog 1
Hello. I'm writing again. I read up to page 132 the first week. Charlie was retarde and had an operation to make him smart. I like that in the book you can actually see his spelling and grammar improving. At first almost every word was mispelled and he only used periods for grammar. Now he doesn't mispell any words and his grammar is correct. The book just started getting interesting. I've had it in my house for about 2 years and never even thought of reading it. Now I am glad I chose up this book for english class.
