Blog 2

I finished the book Flowers for Algernon. Once it started getting interesting I couldn't put it down. It was really sad when Charlie became mentally retarded at the end. In this book I like how Daniel Keyes mispelled words in Charlie's journal on purpose to show his low IQ. When Charlie became smart though he used words that I didn't even understand so I had to read with a dictionary.

hello. This book sounds great now that you mention it. I thought it was about a lab mouse or something but the mispelled words in the diary sounds interesting to read. I would like to hear more about this book.
Nice blog.

When we had to choose an independant reading book, this was one of the books that i was going to choose, but another book caught my interest. From your blog, this book also sounds really good and it's sad to hear that Charlie had troubling times, since he was mentally ill. Good entry though :)

This book sounds great. he was mentally ill!! *gasp*!

no i actually knew that and i saw most of the movie but this gives me an even more enlightening-(you're going to need that dictionary again)- view of a mentally ill persons life and experiences . i wish i had read this book years ago when i had the chance(but now i can't find it because it is lost 4EVER:..)

I didn't know this book was on the reading list, Ididnt really check out every book on the internet. However, after you told me what it was about, i also got very interested and curious about reading this book. Its too bad that Charlie is mentally retarded now after being so smart... it wouldn't be to bad if he was mentally retarded from the start. Ifeel really sorry for him.

Hey Connie! I read the play version of Flowers for Algernon. At least, I think its the play. I don't know how many versions there are. Algernon is the mouse right? We saw the movie in class. It was so sad. :-( Do you like it? I really liked it, but it made me cry so much. The sad thing was that when Charlie was smart (did you read that part yet?), he kind of mistreated his friends and everyone who was nice to him when he wasn't that smart in the beginning. <3

sounds like a movie i saw in class. that the guy was stupid and then became really smart but then noticed he didnt want to be smart so he somehow became stupid again. good job finishing the book.

This book sounds like something someone would cry about at the end because charlie ended up mentally retarded. Also it is a good example that in his journal the author misspelled words to show he was not smart.

Hey Con! I hope to read your book cause we're such great friends and you have great taste. I dont get how turning mentally ill can be an interesting plot. I would label it more of sadness although you mentioned that.
